St Georges Pupils work on strength and conditioning at Locker 27

St Georges

Every week, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, keen students from St George’s College, Weybridge head to Locker 27 to improve their physical competency, accompanied at all times by a College member of staff.

From First Years to Sixth Form, children are learning about all aspects of physical development with the purpose to improve their general wellbeing.

Locker 27 is an athletic development centre located a short distance away from St George’s College. Run by Old Georgian and ex-professional cricketer, Matt Church, its purpose is to provide an exciting, pioneering and fun learning environment for the children.

The experienced and qualified coaches deliver programmes that help to improve strength, speed, agility, endurance and physical robustness – not to mention the mental resilience that is a healthy by product of programmes such as these.

Designed for both boys and girls, the environment created is not just for children who are into sport. Locker 27 provides the children with a chance to learn about health, well-being, improving self esteem and confidence.

Locker 27 hopes that by starting St George’s students early on a youth athletic development pathway, it will prolong that desire to enjoy and take part in lifelong physical activity.
